About
My name is Ulyana, I was born and raised in Russia and I came to the United States at the age of 21, that was the time my career as a tattoo artist started. Yana Liner is a nickname that I chose to work with, Yana is just a part of my name, many of my English-speaking friends found it easier to call me like that, and I picked Liner because when I was studying at an art school I really loved to draw in line work style and I always had so much fun of building geometric figures, my favorite tools were thin graphic pens which are called “liners”, so I made my name nice to sound, easy to read, say and remember
My philosophy of tattooing came out pretty simple. I’ve tried many styles of tattooing and played with different thicknesses of needles to work with and my favorites so far are minimalist and micro-realistic tattoos done with a bunch of thin needles or a single one. It could be as simple as a small heart, or a tiny detailed realism-styled work. I also love to do delicate script tattoos. I’ve studied calligraphy which made me easy and enjoyable to work with lettering in tattooing
